D’Appolonia’s long history of serving local, state, and federal government agencies has provided our staff with a level of understanding of balancing the intricacies of regulatory concerns, engineering requirements, and community needs. For more than 20 years, we have been providing consulting engineering services to both the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County on consecutive on-call contracts. Typically, projects have involved our project managers finding solutions for issues impacting roadways, residential and commercial structures, and government facilities. State agencies that D’Appolonia has served include the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP).
D’Appolonia has worked a great deal with federal entities such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Natural Resources Construction Services (NRCS) on projects involving the design of specialty geotechnical structures, evaluation and design of rehabilitation plans for dams and embankments, planning studies, execution of geotechnical explorations, and the performance of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
